Ride in a horse-drawn sleigh for the ultimate get-away-from-it-all experience

What would winter be without a horse drawn sleigh ride? That would be like playing golf in Michigan without playing at Garland! It just wouldn't be right! We feature 16-person sleighs in operation every weekend during the winter. One of the highlights of the season is the Zhivago Night Dinner that is the most fun, intimate, and exciting meal event held at Garland. It starts with a horse drawn sleigh ride to the Bridge Inn outlined with hundreds of tiny lights. There you will recline by the fire, awaiting your five-course wild-game dinner accompanied by exquisite wine and other beverages.  This rustic log building is charming and homey, making you feel as though you have traveled back in time to a gentler, simpler era.

Strap on your skates and do a double axel on our old-fashioned ice pond

We offer ice skating at Garland the way it was meant to be enjoyed on our frozen outdoor pond. Located behind the Main Lodge, our pond is the ideal venue for ice skating, the way that we enjoyed it in the good old days. In the evenings, we build a bonfire to keep our guests warm. The pond is lighted for your evening skating pleasure. If you do not have your own skates, rentals are available at a nominal cost.

Glide down the sledding hill with the entire family

We have our own hill for sledding, located nearby the Main Lodge. It is set up for the enjoyment of our guests of all ages. Sledding is a wonderful family activity and to promote good fellowship, Garland provides sledding for free to all guests. Get the family and head over to the sledding hill.
